FOUR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LIGHTING
The day lighting, which allows the natural light to enter the buildings from the top, gives an exceptional visual comfort. It depends on the characteristics, dimensions and location of the installed units. It is particularly important to maintain a sufficient lighting level and to avoid any blinding light.
The good perception of the objects goes together with an excellent result of the colours and with the clearness of the contrasts and forms. These performances are more improved with the lighting adapted to the working places: the visual well-being depends then on the balance of the light sources.
SMOKE EVACUATION
In case of fire, the natural smoke evacuation improves the visibility to the emergency exits by evacuating partially the smoke and combustion gas. It facilitates the evacuation of the persons and the firemen intervention. Moreover, the evacuation of the gas and smoke reduces the risk of fire propagation inside the buildings.
In order to fulfil the criteria of the legislation obligations, the choice of the required units has to take into account the nature of the buildings, their purpose and their equipments.
VENTILATION
The ventilation of the buildings has as objective to preserve the sanitary quality of the ambient air, to improve the comfort of the people inside and to limit the degradation of the building by evacuating the condensation, gas, particles … The natural static ventilation systems take part in a simple and efficient way in the air renewal in the buildings. Concerning the ventilation equipments installed under the domes of the skylights, they help to reduce significantly the heat accumulation due to the greenhouse effect and decrease the temperature inside the buildings.
ROOF ACCESS
The roof access skylights give a secured solution when some renovations or repairing are done on the building roofs (the DTU* series 43, agreed by the main waterproofing producers, recommends an annual control visit). Diverse accessories are available to access to the roof safely (ladder attachment bar, grab handle…), but also to forbid its non-authorised access and to avoid inopportune intrusions (locked or padlocked grating).

CONTROLS
Essential to control the opening and closing of the smoke evacuation and ventilation units on the roof, these controls are of course installed on new buildings, but can also be adapted to existing systems. They fulfil all the regulation constraints concerning the smoke evacuation of public access buildings, industrial buildings, offices, residential buildings, etc….
